211129 England: Consultations - Phasing Out of Fossil Fuel Heating in Properties Off the Gas Grid

The Government has launched two consultations relating to the phasing out of fossil fuel heating systems for off grid properties, with one focussed on homes and the other on businesses and public buildings. The proposals are for existing fossil fuel heating systems to be replaced with a 'heat pump first' approach on natural replacement cycles, potentially taking effect from 2026 for homes and as early as 2024 for some buildings.
