Non-Production SFI Actions - 25% Holding Entry Cap

DEFRA has announced today (25th March) that there will be a cap of 25% of a holding able to be entered into 6 actions under the Sustainable Farming Incentive that take land out of direct food production. The actions are:

• IPM2: Flower-rich grass margins, blocks, or in-field strips
• AHL1: Pollen and nectar flower mix
• AHL2: Winter bird food on arable and horticultural land
• AHL3: Grassy field corners or blocks
• IGL1: Take improved grassland field corners or blocks out of management
• IGL2: Winter bird food on improved grassland

The cap comes into effect for applications submitted after midnight on 25th March. Applications submitted before that time, and existing agreements, remain unaffected.
