Negative results for suspected FMD case in Norfolk

Defra has this evening lifted the Temporary Control Zone imposed in Norfolk following negative laboratory results for Foot and Mouth Disease. Initial tests regarding the strain of FMD virus involved in the one outbreak found to date in Surrey have shown that it is type 01 BFS67 which is the same strain found in the August outbreak. The epidemiological investigate continues into the source of the current outbreak.
