Ministerial Statement made regarding SPS 2007 payments

The Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Hilary Benn) has today (3rd July) issued a Written Ministerial Statement regarding the Single Payment Scheme and 2007 payments. As at 30th June, 98.7% of the total estimated fund had been paid (£1.431 billion), with "full payments" made to 103,485 (97% of 2007 SPS claimants). 30th June represents the end of the regulatory window by which time 2007 SPS payments have to be made. Payments for 2007 SPS made after this date will see interest payable in the same way as those with outstanding 2005 and 2006 payments. Please see Defra's website to view the Ministerial Statement.
