DEFRA launches scoping project to examine forestry as renewable energy source

DEFRA has today (17th September) announced the launch of a scoping project to look at short rotation forestry and what role it may have to play in being a viable renewable energy source. A number of sites and plots will be established to look at both native and naturalised broadleaved trees as well as other species which may have the potential of being used for biomass. Further information is available on DEFRA's website.
