Bluetongue - remainder of England to be incorporated within Protection Zone

Defra has today (20th) confirmed that the extension of the Bluetongue Protection Zone (PZ) to incorporate the counties of Northumberland and Cumbria will not occur prior to 1st September 2008 unless there is a change in the disease status. This extension is intended to occur in a single stage alongside the scheduled provision of further vaccine and will see the whole of England forming the PZ. Further information is available on DEFRA's website.
