Job Description:

The Role

Due to continued expansion, a full-time vacancy has arisen to manage the Estate Office and help to deliver the estate’s various service lines.

Working in beautiful surroundings alongside the other service leads, you will be responsible for the day to day operation of the estate office and running a range of estate systems.

The role will involve property and farming related matters as well as general administration and office management, and you will be dealing with a wide range of people including tenants, contractors, visiting groups, senior managers and the estate owners.

About Norbury Park Estate

Norbury Park is a privately owned estate of 2,200 acres in rural west Staffordshire. Best known for our pioneering work in woodland management and climate research through the BIFoR FACE project, the Estate employs around 20 people and welcomes numerous organised visits each year.

We have an interesting portfolio of property and projects, a woodland management operation, in hand farming, a commercial sawmill and timber business.

Skills & Experience

Required

  • Self-starting, positive and flexible approach to work
  • Ability to fit into and enhance a small, friendly team
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently, managing own priorities and deadlines
  • Confidence and willingness to engage with a wide spectrum of people, including tenants, suppliers, senior managers and VIP visitors
  • Strong IT skills, proficient in MS Office and digital communications
  • Organised and diligent approach to tasks and record keeping
  • Track record in office management or senior secretarial positions

Desirable

  • Experience of rural estate administration
  • Understanding of property management, farming and rural grant schemes

Optional

  • Use of digital mapping systems

Package

  • Salary: £32,500-£37,500 according to experience
  • Holidays: 24 days plus bank holidays, plus option to purchase additional holiday
  • Location: office-based at Norbury Park, with occasional local site visits
  • Hours: 8.30 - 4.30, Monday to Friday
  • Mileage allowance for use of own car for site visits
  • Contributory Pension Scheme
