Merton College - Oxford - Land Agent

Job Description:

Merton College, Oxford was founded in 1264 by Walter de Merton, former Chancellor of England and later Bishop of Rochester. It boasts some of the oldest and most beautiful buildings in Oxford. It now has extensive urban and rural, residential and commercial property assets across the country.

Following the recent announcement of the retirement of the College’s Land Agent, his successor is being sought. The Land Agent will manage and oversee the College’s non-operational estate with a view to deriving both additional revenue and capital growth and, in combination with College Officers, maintain and develop the operational estate to support the College’s academic ambitions.

Key requirements

  • Proven track record in directly managing a diverse property portfolio.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills and an ability to work on own initiative and to plan and prioritise workload.
  • Sophisticated stakeholder management skills.
  • An affinity with the ethos of an Oxford College.
  • Chartered membership of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors.
