The Senior Rural Business Surveyor will join a highly professional and progressive team, providing advice and services related to the management, valuation, planning and development of rural properties and estates across the West Midlands and Welsh Borders. Role Responsibilities:

  • To collaborate with a diverse range of private clients, managing their portfolio of land, properties, and assets
  • To provide expert consultancy advice and recommendations on all rural planning matters including: land use planning, development proposals, environmental land management schemes, and sustainable land management practices
  • To deliver guidance on compensation and compulsory purchase work for clients
  • To conduct detailed and accurate valuations of rural properties
  • To undertake the sale and letting of rural properties
  • To develop and implement land management strategies that take into account natural capital initiatives and other diversification opportunities, aiming to enhance the profitability and sustainability of rural estates
  • To stay abreast of rural planning regulations, market trends and government policies, advising clients accordingly

Skills you will need:
Essential:

  • MRICS or AssocRICS qualified
  • Extensive knowledge and a successful track record of delivering excellent rural professional and estate management services
  • A knowledge and interest in natural capital, utilities and infrastructure or rural diversification schemes
  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills
  • Highly organised with a strong attention to detail
  • The ability to work autonomously also collaboratively as part of a team
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex information to a variety of audiences
  • A proven relationship builder, able to forge and cultivate long lasting business relationships
  • Commercially astute and a lateral thinker, able to generate new business solutions
  • A strategic and driven driven mindset
  • Proficient in IT
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable:

  • RICS registered valuer

Remuneration: A competitive salary commensurate with candidate’s experience plus commission.
