About Us

Rural Advisor is a multi-disciplinary advisory business focussed solely on advising famers, landowners and rural enterprises. It was launched in 2021 and deals with land agency matters, farm business advisory services, planning, grants, farm secretarial support, training, research and policy matters. Our team are experts across multiple disciplines so we can provide diverse advice to farming and land-owning clients. We live and work in the rural areas that we serve and have the sole aim of providing high quality and bespoke advice and services.

Within the team, we have a range of specialist experience covering a range of advisory matters. Our clients are varied and diverse reflecting the range of services that we offer to rural people and businesses. Our team are competent, capable and reliable. They are able to work across sectors and provide all levels of business advice, working collaboratively with other partners and businesses where needed.

The Role

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and driven qualified Rural Surveyor to join our expanding team and work alongside our existing Rural Surveyor. The role will involve a wide range of matters including valuations, agency, compensation and compulsory purchase, estate management, rural business advice including grants and subsides, and landlord and tenant matters. As well as this you will have an opportunity to expand and identify new business opportunities and develop new work streams within your areas of interest.

We are looking for a person who will contribute to the ongoing success of a thriving independent and innovative firm. This role will particularly suit someone ambitious who is looking to take the next step in their career with the following attributes:

  • RICS qualified with demonstrable relevant experience in rural or agricultural matters;
  • CAAV Qualified would be advantageous;
  • RICS Registered Valuer;
  • Capable of building and maintaining good relationships with clients and providing recommendations based on technical knowledge and experience;
  • Able to support the team in winning and delivering new instructions;
  • A keen networker, confident, ambitious and driven, happy to work in a challenging environment and at times under pressure;
  • Based in England or Wales with the ability to work independently and as part of a wider team working remotely, the role will be based from home;
  • Have a current driving licence.
