Norbury Park Estate – Staffordshire – Property Manager (Part Time)

Job Description:

Norbury Park is a privately owned estate in rural west Staffordshire, situated between Newport, Eccleshall and Stafford. Mainly known for our pioneering work in woodland management and climate research through the BIFoR FACE project, we also have a portfolio of interesting properties and development projects with an active investment programme.

The Estate is an open and welcoming place with a culture of innovation and quality, and we strive for excellent relations with our tenants, stakeholders and visiting groups.

The Role

We are seeking a Property Manager to be responsible for the day to day running of the Estate’s growing property portfolio. You will be based in the estate office, working alongside the estate director and estate secretary, looking after a mixture of residential rental, estate and operational properties. You will also be helping with the preparation and delivery of a range of exciting development projects.

The role will involve dealing with tenants, contractors, suppliers and the wider Estate team and will require regular site visits.

Skills & Experience

Required

  • Understanding and experience of buildings and property management matters including tenancies, compliance, maintenance, utilities and health & safety. For the right candidate we can be flexible about the amount of prior experience required, and training could be provided.
  • Professional and flexible attitude to work, with a proactive approach to problem solving
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Open and positive attitude
  • Ability to fit into and enhance a small, friendly team
  • Organised and diligent approach to tasks and record keeping
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and effectively manage own workload
  • Self-starting, with a willingness to engage with a wide range of people and settings
  • Proficient in use of MS Office and digital communications

Desirable

  • Experience in property management or similar role

Optional

  • Degree in related subject
  • Experience of rural property and estates
  • Experience with digital mapping systems

    Package

    • Salary: competitive, according to qualifications and experience
    • Holidays: 24 days plus bank holidays, and the option to take 5 additional days unpaid leave
    • Location: office and site based.
    • Hours: 25 hours per week (work pattern can be flexible, e.g. school hours)
    • Mileage allowance for use of own car for site visits
