CAAV Note 210831: England - Tree Health Pilot Scheme Opened

DEFRA’s Tree Health Pilot scheme has opened today for Expressions of Interest and will be open all year. This three-year Pilot, handled by the Forestry Commission, is to run alongside the existing Countryside Stewardship Woodland Tree Health grants which will continue to be available until 2024. The Pilot’s role is to test and refine new elements intended to be part of the full Tree Health Scheme which is to start in 2024, covering all England. See our note for more detail....

DEFRA has announced the awards from the first round of the Nature for Climate Peatland Grant Scheme. Projects in areas including the South West, Lancashire and Cumbria and Greater Manchester have received over £16 million for peatland restoration.
