CAAV Note 210925: Costs - Liability for Multiple Parties on a Statutory Review - CPRE Kent

This note reviews a recent case in the Supreme Court: CPRE Kent v Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government [2021] UKSC 36. The Supreme Court upheld the Court of Appeal’s ruling that, in failing to secure a statutory review of a Local Plan policy, CPRE Kent was liable for the reasonable costs of all parties on which it had served notice. 210921 England: NVZ Designated Areas

News

Following their 4-yearly review of Nitrate Vulnerable Zone (NVZ) designated areas in December 2020, DEFRA have announced that no substantial changes in the patterns of nitrate pollution in England have been found. Accordingly, designated areas remain the same for 2021 to 2024. A map of designated areas can be found here. 210914 Northern Ireland: COVID-19 Protection from eviction extended

The Northern Ireland Communities Minister Deirdre Hargey has announced an extension the COVID-19 eviction protection for residents. The legislation was due to expire on 30th September 2021 but has been extended until 4th May 2022 by The Private Tenancies (Coronavirus Modifications) (No.2) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2021.
