Woodland Trust - Home based - Land & Property - Carbon Surveyor
The Woodland Trust is the UK’s leading woodland conservation charity. We want to see a UK rich in native woods and trees, for people and wildlife. The Trust aims to engage and inspire people about woods and trees to help us meet our vision of creating, restoring and protecting woodland.
Working as part of a UK wide team the Land & Property Carbon Surveyor will primarily focus on identifying, progressing and managing carbon opportunities across the UK. They will be working closely with land managers to develop those opportunities, identifying and following up potential carbon leads in conjunction with our woodland outreach team, and providing a carbon advisory role for other members of the Land & Property team.
You will be a qualified Chartered Surveyor preferably with a rural practice background with a strong knowledge of UK land use policies and how carbon and tree planting can fit into those policies.
Using your initiative you will identify and explore opportunities to deliver the trusts aims whilst maximising a budget in a cost effective manner. You will be efficient and able to perform to a high standard in a constantly changing external environment, managing risks, identifying and capitalising on opportunities in line with the Trust’s cause.
A full driving licence and ability to undertake travel across a wide area, sometimes to remote locations. Overnight stays will be required which may be at least once per month.
