Shadwell - Norfolk - Land Agent

Job Description:

Shadwell’s reputation as one of the most prestigious and successful thoroughbred breeding and racing operations in the world is well established and the Shadwell estate extends to approximately 6,720 acres.

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Land Agent to assist the Estate Manager in the successful delivery of the Shadwell Estate Company including a diverse property portfolio comprising stud farms, equestrian units, in-hand sheep farm, tenanted farms and 80 houses in Norfolk, Cambridgeshire, Suffolk and Berkshire and UK wide commercial assets.

The role would suit someone who is keen to learn and develop their skills to take on responsibility for a variety of work as the company grows its diverse business interests.

The successful candidate will have a strong initiative, a strong business mindset, be excited by new opportunities and bring energy and ideas to the role.

Key Responsibilities

The role will support the Estate Manager in all areas of Estate and Property management including but not limited to land management, environmental schemes, leasing and letting, landlord and tenant, planning and development, stakeholder engagement, forestry, mapping, diversifying of estate assets and Health & Safety/ Legal Compliance.

Qualification, Skills & Experience

  • Qualified Rural Surveyor, MRICS ideally 2 years PQE
  • Ideally CAAV qualified.
  • High levels of IT skills in Microsoft Office, Outlook and Mapping Systems.
  • Full UK Driving licence.
  • Professional approach to all aspects of work with high standards of presentation and excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Adaptable, with strong negotiation skills to ensure positive outcomes.
  • Good people skills and diplomacy are essential.
  • Good understanding and practical experience of Health and Safety requirements.
  • Flexible, enthusiastic and positive approach to all areas of work and a commitment to exceed expectations.
  • Well organised with good attention to detail
  • Independence, confidence, initiative and the ability to take responsibility.
