MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB: To work with the Rural Land & Business and Energy teams to deliver excellent customer service for private clients, and to further develop and expand the work of the department

TERM: Full-time, permanent.

REPORTING STRUCTURE: This role reports to a Rural Director who is part of the Rural Land & Business and Estate Management team.



  1. Aid with the development and expansion of the Renewable Energy Department
  2. Manage a large existing portfolio of renewable energy projects from the initial promotion to energisationLiaise with clients and develop client relationships
  3. Provide technical advice to clients on renewable energy projects alongside liaising with other professionals and contractors
  4. Take a lead role in the negotiation and completion of Option and Lease arrangements
  5. Perform general estate and land management duties for private clients
  6. Provide general professional advice to rural clients in regard to land management and occupation
  7. Deal with landlord and tenant matters
  8. Liaise with clients and develop client relationships
  9. Develop work from new and existing clients, in association with other colleagues, and maintain an up to date work pipeline
  10. Assist with the management of a growing team of graduate surveyors and trainees to ensure excellent client service and develop the skills and experience of the team
  11. Maintain an up to date time sheet and record all expenditure against clients


  1. RICS accredited
  2. At least 2 years of post-qualified professional experience would be preferable.
  3. Knowledge and experience of the renewable energy sector and in particular large scale solar developments
  4. Experience of project management and evidence of successfully delivering projects
  5. Ability to have good attention to detail and experience reviewing and negotiating legal contracts
  6. Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with colleagues and clients and including the ability to assimilate and convey complex information to a variety of audiences
  7. Comfortable with a high degree of autonomy
  8. Ability to manage time effectively, prioritising tasks to ensure that deadlines are met
  9. Works in an organised and methodical fashion, with high level of attention to detail
  10. Ability to learn new skills and working methods and be adaptable to change
  11. Ability to accept responsibility and work on their own initiative, whilst adhering to company policies and procedures
  12. Commercially astute and capable of generating new business
  13. IT literate
  14. Car owner with full UK driving licence

WORKING HOURS: Full-time: 9.00am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday with up to one hour for lunch. Occasional flexibility is required to clear an urgent workload

LOCATION: GSC Grays, 5-6 Bailey Court, Colburn Business Park, Richmond, DL9 4QL & Far Shires, Granary, York Road, Easingwold, YO61 3EJ


Holidays: 25 days per year plus statutory holidays

Sickness: 10 days paid sickness absence in one calendar year
