Gasson Associates are a well-established and respected rural business looking for a person with energy, enthusiasm, an interest in strategic thinking and number crunching, to join our highly motivated team. We are looking for a holistic thinker who can add real value to our clients’ businesses. This role would suit a post graduate with ideally at least two years’ experience. CAAV fellow or equivalent preferred. A great opportunity to make this position your own at an exciting time in agriculture and Estate management.



  • Undertaking strategic farm business reviews
  • Producing farm/Estate budgets, cashflows and reports
  • Advising on biodiversity net gain and Carbon opportunities
  • Assisting with, and if appropriate leading on, delivery of a range of development and diversification opportunities
  • Helping clients to make business decisions
  • Assisting clients with new schemes during the Agricultural Transition
  • Supporting Consultants with Countryside Stewardship and other funding opportunities
  • Managing property portfolios, both residential and commercial
  • Developing own specialist area


  • Providing cost effective advice to our clients
  • Assisting other consultants in advice delivery
  • Being involved in the marketing of the company to prospective clients

We are a small team and all need to be flexible in the work that is done. It is likely you will be expected to carry out other tasks, variety is a fundamental part of the job!


  • At least two years of post-degree/post-grad experience
  • Initiative and self-motivation
  • Ability to form a rapport with clients
  • Very good maths skills
  • Sound understanding of the principles of accounting and budgeting
  • Forward thinker – able to think strategically about the “bigger picture”
  • Knowledge of and enthusiasm for farming, property and rural matters
  • Practical farming experience would be beneficial
  • Commercial or technical background would be useful
  • Excellent communication skills


You will be supported with training to assist you to qualify as a BIAC member, CAAV fellow, or other suitable qualifications, if you do not have these already. Training in house and specialist courses will be encouraged.

Office base will be West Berkshire or Chipping Norton but working remotely part time will be considered. Willingness to travel is essential.
