European Valuation Standards (EVS)

As well as supporting professional ethics and standards for qualification, TEGoVA issues EVS (the Blue Book). It is prepared by the European Valuation Standards Board (EVSB) of which Jeremy Moody, CAAV Secretary and Adviser, is Vice Chairman.

The Ninth Edition (2020) gives standards defining market value and other bases of valuation, a qualified valuer, valuations and reporting together with a range of applications, a review of the impact of EU law (largely carried forward into UK law under the withdrawal legislation) on property valuation and a variety of technical papers.

In addition to EVS, the EVSB prepares other technical papers and developments. Current work includes papers on aspects of residential valuations, portfolio valuations and the concept of “prospective value”.

European Business Valuation Standards (EBVS)

Alongside European Valuation Standards, TEGoVA has published European Business Valuation Standards 2020 (EBVS) giving standards for business valuation work defining market value and other bases of valuation, approaches to valuations and reporting together with a range of guidance notes and supporting papers, including a review of sustainability and of the impact of EU law (carried forward in the UK under the EU withdrawal legislation).
