Secretary of State Michael Gove sets out his vision for a 'Green Brexit'

The Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, Michael Gove, sets out his vision for the delivery of a "Green Brexit" in a speech to WWF UK today. His speech is available on the GOV.UK website and lays out his ambition in terms of future agricultural policy and support payments following the UK's departure from the EU.

MPs approve General Election on 8th June 2017

MPs voted this afternoon on Prime Minister Theresa May's motion for a general election to be held on 8th June 2017. It has been approved by 522 votes to 13, so will go ahead.

PM calls a General Election on 8th June 2017

Prime Minister Theresa May will move a motion in the House of Commons tomorrow (19th April) calling for a general election on 8th June 2017. Under the Fixed-term Parliaments Act, any decision to call a general election must be voted on by the House of Commons. To go ahead, it will require a two-thirds majority vote. Brexit: Article 50 Triggered - Prime Minister's Statement

Prime Minister, Theresa May, has triggered Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty earlier today which starts the formal negotiation process for Brexit. She made a statement to the House of Commons which can be viewed on the Parliament UK website.

Anyone can submit a nomination simply by going to the Awards website at http://awards.fwi.co.uk and clicking on "Enter the Awards". The closing date for nominations is 30th April 2017.

Applications invited for Board Members for National Parks and AONBs

Applications are being invited for appointments to six English National Park Authorities, the Broads Authority and the Chilterns and Cotswolds AONB Conservation Boards. The positions will require a commitment of between 1 and 4 days per month, depending on the appointment and while they are not remunerated, allowances may be paid. Further details are available on the Cabinet Office website and the closing date for applications is 22nd March 2017.
