CAAV Centenary Conference and AGM in Gloucestershire is a resounding success

The CAAV Centenary Conference and AGM was held last week (Thursday 24th and Friday 25th June) in Gloucestershire and saw a befitting culmination in the CAAV Centenary celebrations that have been ongoing for the past 12 months, with HRH The Prince of Wales having kindly agreed to be the Patron of the Centenary.

There was record attendance with some 200 members and partners for the practical day with visits to Highgrove and the Duchy Home Farm, 274 for the black tie dinner on the Thursday evening with after-dinner entertainment expertly provided by Rory Bremner, and just under 200 for the conference and AGM on the Friday which saw an interesting variety of speakers including Peter Kendall, NFU President; and Poul Christensen, Chairman of Natural England; Dr Stuart Burgess, Chairman of the Commission for Rural Communities and Rural Advocate; and Tim Render, Counsellor (Regions and Agriculture) in the UK Permanent Representation to the EU Brussels.

The next national CAAV Conference and AGM will be held in Suffolk (Ufford Park Hotel, Woodbridge) on 23rd and 24th June 2011.
