DEFRA wins pesticides appeal

FWi has reported that the government appeal against the High Court ruling that DEFRA had failed in its duty to ensure that the application of pesticides did not cause harm to rural residents has been decided in DEFRA's favour. The case had been pursued by Georgina Downs who lives near farmland in West Sussex. It is understood that DEFRA will be issuing a consultation in the autumn with regard to public access to farm spray records as a result of this judgment.
