Compulsory Bluetongue vaccination to commence in Scotland from 3rd November

The Scottish Government has confirmed that Scotland will become a Bluetongue Protection Zone from Monday 3rd November 2008, allowing free movement of livestock throughout the United Kingdom from that date. The window for compulsory vaccination for sheep and cattle will also open from that date for six months, with the Scottish Government meeting half the costs of the vaccine. Further information is available on the Scottish Government website.
