Job description:

The Hovingham Estate is a beautiful, traditional, privately owned country Estate extending to some 1,250 hectares of land with significant residential and commercial interests, centred around the village of Hovingham in North Yorkshire. It has been in the ownership of the Worsley family since 1563.  

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Estate Manager, who is likely to be recently qualified MRICS with a few years post qualification experience in rural estate management, to assist the owner and the well-established Estate team in the management of all aspects of the property portfolio. The Estate offers diversity and the role will involve a wide range of tasks including:

  • Organising the refurbishment and maintenance of properties
  • Financial management
  • Involvement with In-hand farming
  • Forestry
  • Exploring opportunities for development and diversification
  • Running the shoot and corporate events
  • Negotiating new lettings, rent reviews and lease renewals
  • Administration such as health and safety, HR, IT

The ideal candidate will be friendly, confident and motivated with excellent interpersonal skills, capable of building and maintaining strong personal relationships. You will be able to prioritise and co-ordinate tasks efficiently and work independently with minimum supervision when required. There will be an opportunity to take on increased responsibility in this role as the owner takes a step back to concentrate on other projects.
