Our Property Investment team is responsible for a portfolio worth over £2 billion which includes commercial, rural, and residential property, as well as strategic land, commercial forestry, infrastructure, and indirect property investments.

We are seeking a dynamic Senior Rural Asset Manager to play a pivotal role in developing and implementing an ambitious strategy to continuously unlock value from a diverse rural property portfolio comprising 100,000 acres across 45 estates and valued at over £600 million.

The Position

The successful candidate will be highly strategic and innovative in their approach, commercially astute, and mindful of the need to deliver strong financial returns for our beneficiaries. Key responsibilities include:

  • Ongoing development and implementation of the rural investment strategy to meet long term return requirements.
  • Formulation and implementation of Estate strategies to ensure optimal asset performance across the portfolio.
  • Assessment of the viability of individual investment and development decisions.
  • Leading on the sale and purchase of residential property, estates, and land.
  • Identification, development, and delivery of higher value land uses wherever demand exists.

The Candidate

  • MRICS with approximately 4 - 7 years post qualification experience and a proven track record in rural asset management.
  • A keen interest in setting and delivering a focussed strategy to ensure that rural assets perform in line with required returns.
  • An energetic and driven individual, self-motivated and able to consistently apply professional and commercial judgement.  Financially astute with the ability to deliver results to deadlines.
  • Leadership qualities; highly focussed on delivery whilst approachable and supportive with excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships at all levels.
  • Self-organised, able to multitask and prioritise competing objectives.
