The Role / Location

An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic recently qualified chartered surveyor to work within the rural team in Savills’ Oxford Office working primarily for institutional clients on land and projects throughout England.

Key Responsibilities

  • The management of a substantial portfolio of let residential agricultural and commercial property, including instigating/negotiating rent reviews, lease renewals and other landlord and tenant practice
  • Management of reactive of pro-active and reactive maintenance and repairs
  • Property Letting
  • Working with team-members to ensure property compliance
  • Working with other Savills departments to support the efficient delivery of Client projects.
  • Spotting and delivering added value opportunities.
  • Providing timely and accurate reporting to the Client
  • Financial management working closely with the client accounting team in preparing budgets and managing cash flow and expenditure.

Technical experience:-

  • Strong understanding of landlord and tenant law and practice, and property compliance
  • Sound knowledge of the rural economy and rural estates, including the challenges and opportunities facing rural landowners
  • Sound agricultural knowledge
  • Knowledge of buildings and the built environment
  • MRICS and/or FAAV both highly desirable, but not essential if equivalent relevant experience demonstrated

Skills and Knowledge

  • Clear written and verbal communication style, including the ability to communicate at all levels
  • Strong people skills with the ability to work effectively as part of the team
