About the role

The NFU is looking for a Rural Surveyor to primarily support the Senior Rural Surveyor on the NFU’s work on infrastructure schemes including High Speed Rail, road & rail schemes and wind farm developments with onshore cables

You will provide support to the Senior Rural Surveyor to give quality expert advice at a high standard to key stakeholders who include our members, staff, the NFU Officeholders, Directors, and Boards.  Your work will involve a variety of issues including compulsory purchase and compensation for large infrastructure schemes.

In addition you will deputise for the Senior Rural Surveyor on relevant groups, panels or bodies as and when required.

You will represent the NFU, as directed, at conferences and other venues, and with the media.

To be successful in this role you will have a logical, task orientated and an analytical approach to dealing with situations and be able to think through a problem by weighing the pros and cons.  As a great communicator you will possess the ability to work well within a team.

You will hold a degree in rural estate management, be qualified as a member of RICS and have knowledge of compulsory purchase, valuation matters and utility legislation.

The land management team is based at Stoneleigh, Head Office. There will be a requirement for you to attend HQ on average 1-2 days per week.
