Job description:

During 2019, Forestry England celebrated one hundred years of forestry, and are now England’s largest overall landowner, managing in excess of 1500 forests along with a diverse range of property types. They deliver internationally renowned research in sustainable forestry and assist other landowners make their woodlands more productive, better for wildlife, and prepared for the challenges of a changing climate.

The Central district contains some of England’s most prestigious and renowned woodlands, including major visitor centres at Delamere in Cheshire and Cannock Chase near Birmingham, as well as the legendary Sherwood Forest. As a result of expansion, Forestry England is now seeking someone with proven estate management experience to join their estates team in Central England.

Role Objectives / Requirements

- Manage landlord/tenant relationships to complete efficient and timely rent reviews, lease renewals and new lettings on sporting  agreements, commercial agreements, recreational sites, residential and grazing agreements.

- Investigate and protect Forestry England’s interests in relation to access, encroachments, boundary disputes and claims.

- Improve the financial and environmental sustainability of the Estate;

- Interpret leases from both a landlord and tenant’s perspective and offer sound professional advice to colleagues.

- Work with a wide range of stakeholders and partner organisations.

- The estate varies from commercial plantation, ancient broadleaved woodland and community woodlands to large recreational visitor centres, residential properties, commercial buildings and agricultural holdings; and also includes utilities, telecoms and sporting.

- Likewise, your day to day work will span a huge range of topics but will always demand delivering first class professional advice to maximise the potential of the range of let and in hand property.

- F/MRICS Qualified along with being a Registered Valuer (desirable).
