Job description:

DDM Agriculture was established in 1999, following a management buyout of the core agricultural division of a traditional multi-discipline firm of chartered surveyors dating from 1889.  Our company and subsidiary JH Pickup & Co, with a strong professional team of Chartered Surveyors and Agricultural Valuers, based in offices in Brigg, North Lincolnshire and Bawtry, South Yorkshire, operate throughout the East Midlands, primarily in Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire and Yorkshire, with a focus on providing sound practical and professional advice.

Our ongoing success is based on a responsive approach to farmers’ and landowners’ requirements combined with our ability to provide a full range of practical, cost-effective and strategic advice.  Every job, however large or small, is delivered to suit the objectives of the individual client through a sound understanding of their business - and is always treated confidentially.

The business continues to enjoy sustained growth. We are therefore seeking to appoint a well presented, committed, self-motivated, flexible, adaptable and enthusiastic graduate or qualified surveyor, who is equally capable of working on either their own initiative or as part of a team, to strengthen the current team and help manage the existing workload of a diverse and solid client base.

The position offers a very wide and interesting range of work in rural estate and property management, valuations, BPS, agency, compensation work, rural planning, landlord and tenant matters, grant and subsidy applications, on-farm machinery sales, renewables and joint farming arrangements.

Applicants will need to be ambitious, dynamic, able to show a comprehensive knowledge of practical agriculture (especially arable), possess a strong academic and professional work ethic and have the ability to fully engage with clients, whilst demonstrating good negotiating and interpersonal skills. Applicants should also be commercially minded and capable of establishing, building on and maintaining good relationships with clients.

A competitive package is on offer.

For more information, or an informal and confidential discussion, please contact Andrew Houlden and/or send your CV to andrew.houlden@ddmagriculture.co.uk.
