Acland Bracewell

Job description:

We are seeking to appoint a post qualified Rural Surveyor with town planning experience, into our established rural, planning and development team in Lancashire. The role will focus on delivering planning applications and providing professional advice on various agricultural, residential, and mixed-use development projects to our existing private clients, including landowners, developers, and farmers. This is an exciting opportunity, which will also involve assisting in the management of landed estates in Lancashire and Greater Manchester, and other professional work including landlord & tenant and compensation claims across the North West.

About You

The successful candidate will have a key position in our growing rural, planning and development team and will be working at a high level, managing planning applications through to submission, offering planning advice as well as developing key abilities to undertake strategic land reviews for landed estates and our private clients. You must be well organised, have a commercial outlook on your own role, as a fee earner, be comfortable with engaging with clients and negotiating with LPA’s and be able to act in a project management role. If you have experience in CAD design, this role is full of opportunity to develop personally and professionally.

Who We Are

Established in 1958, Acland Bracewell remains so today a family-owned practice. Founded on the traditions of landed estate management, we have developed into a modern forward-thinking practice of Chartered Surveyors, Town Planners, Land Agents and Property Consultants. Since the mid-20th Century we have managed established landowners’ estates throughout the UK. Our clients include private UK and non-domiciled clients, landowners, farmers, institutional clients and pension funds. We are proud of our clients and the personal, long-standing relationships that have been developed and continue to evolve over many years.

What do I need to demonstrate?

You will be a member of the RICS with at least 2 years post qualification experience in rural surveying. Experience in project management/planning applications, permitted development and enforcement work is essential, together with rural landlord and tenant/estate management matters. You must be able to work within an established team, including rural surveyors, architect and planners and be also comfortable working on your own, with the ability to efficiently project manage multiple instructions and third-party technical consultants. You must be able to regularly liaise with clients, such as landowners, developers and farmers and confidently negotiate with LPA’s and other parties. This position offers excellent progression and development opportunities. CAAV qualification is desirable and MRTPI qualification not essential.

Why work at Acland Bracewell:

We offer a highly competitive rewards package including bonus.

Acland Bracewell has always adopted a personal approach to our clients. We are not a national land agency practice, nor do we strive to be one. We pride ourselves in maintaining a long-lasting relationship with our clients, so we can tailor their needs accordingly, but more importantly our clients know who is personally managing their interests and this creates trust and consistency.
