This is where you come in…

We have an exciting permanent opportunity for a Property Surveyor to join the Access and Acquisitions Team within Property Services based at our Office in Kendal, Cumbria. 

The team specialises in entry to private land and the statutory framework surrounding compulsory purchase and compensation. 

What will you focus on?

Your role will be to provide access, valuation and property related advice to enable the timely completion of projects.

Pipeline route planning and site selection, land referencing, and preparing pre entry records of condition.

Serving statutory notices to facilitate access to private land and liaise with contractors, landowners, occupiers and their agents.

Negotiate and acquire sites, easements and other interests in land to protect our existing assets and facilitate the provision of new infrastructure.

Compensation claims arising as a result of our presence on private property in both rural and urban locations. 

Legislation advice, governing compulsory purchase and compensation and the powers vested in us as a statutory undertaker.

What do you need?

To be a qualified Chartered Surveyor preferably with relevant experience of utility company work with land access work.

You will require excellent communication, negotiation and decision making skills to liaise effectively with a wide range of people.   Your commercial skills & business understanding will be essential together with your experience to advise on property related issues and associated costs with capital schemes.

Organisational & planning skills together with confidence and self-motivation are vital.

This is a challenging role which demands the initiative to manage a large and varied workload.

A full driving licence is essential.
