Job description:

An exciting opportunity for a graduate/qualified rural surveyor to be an integral part of the Rural Estate Management department based in Peterborough working for a variety of management clients with scope to develop the role and career.

The position involves the provision of day-to-day estate management and related professional services to a major institutional client with a large portfolio of let farms and associated rural properties located through Cambridgeshire and Lincolnshire as well as private clients in the East Midlands.

The candidate will report to the client directors, with a high level of direct client contact and responsibility for all management matters including lease renewals, budgeting and accounts, rent reviews, planning and development, access and rights, and reporting, as well as liaising with other disciplines.

Primary Objectives

  • Provide estate management services to a first class standard
  • Maintain and enhance client relationships as the primary contact
  • An enthusiastic and commercially minded key member of the Peterborough office and regional team

Other Responsibilities

  • Assist with business development events
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff and graduates as appropriate

Candidate Profile

  • MRICS, preferably with at least one year’s post qualification experience, although all candidates will be considered
  • Relevant experience in the rural sector with sound technical knowledge
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent negotiation skills and able to adapt negotiating style
  • High level of financial acumen and experience of managing budgets
  • Impressive relationship management skills and ability to engage with a variety of audiences
  • Self-motivated, goal driven individual able to prioritise, work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work in a clear and logical fashion, with good organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Good IT skills – full training provided for internal systems
  • Presentable both in appearance and communication style, with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • An interest in developing new business and to become an established and key team member
  • Full, clean UK driving licence
