MATERNITY COVER – FIXED TERM 12 MONTH CONTRACT

We have a fantastic opportunity for a qualified Land Agent to join our Estates Team. The successful applicant will be involved in all aspects of traditional Land Agency, Rural Estates Management and Development Projects across the national portfolio.

The successful candidate will be tasked with effectively and efficiently managing, monitoring and maximising the value of the rural element of the national property portfolio including agricultural, residential and rural commercial properties.

Our ideal candidate will be commercially aware, have sound knowledge of UK and EU agricultural and land use regulations and have an excellent understanding of RICS regulations including code of conduct and ethical behavior.

ROLE PURPOSE:

  • Be part of the land management estates team, within the Land & Planning Department
  • Assisting and reporting to Group Land Agent
  • Assist in the management of Peel’s sizeable rural land portfolio
  • Manage, monitor and maximise the value of the rural element of the national property portfolio
  • Provide estate management service including, rent reviews, lease renewals, budgeting, Basic Payment Scheme, disposals, general farming advice, building repairs. Health and Safety Advice and Procedures.  Contractor Management.
  • Be commercially aware, by identifying, promoting and presenting opportunities for the Group.
  • Identify, report, negotiate and complete sales of agricultural and amenity land
  • Identify and report on acquisition opportunities
  • Management of royalty payments from commercial lettings
  • Provide valuation advice, including rental valuations and disposals, compensation and easements/wayleaves
  • Monitor and interpret relevant legislation
  • Manage and monitor contractors, RAMS documentation and job progression for repair and maintenance works
  • Involvement of large development projects from to delivery

KEY KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Able to work under pressure and to meet deadlines
  • Sound knowledge of UK and EU agricultural and land-use regulations/legal framework
  • Sound knowledge of UK agricultural, residential and commercial law, including planning law and access, rights over land and health & safety law
  • Good understanding of commercial and environmental issues in the rural economy
  • Good communication and negotiating skills
  • Good analytical skills, property market understanding and awareness
