£35,000 - £45,000 per annum depending on experience

Working from Home (with regular travel to Edinburgh, London, East Anglia and occasionally Europe)

Job description:

  • Contract Type - Full Term, Fixed Term (2 yrs)
  • Bonus Range - Up to 10% of salary dependant on performance
  • Car Allowance - Vehicle provided when required on a project by project basis. Mileage reimbursed st 0.45p per mile for use of own vehicle.

Part of a team of electricity industry professionals working in the biggest offshore wind market in the world you will personally oversee, manage and secure all land rights required to develop, construct and operate offshore wind farms in UK territorial waters.

You will be embedded within our client’s team and will support them to deliver a portfolio of nationally significant electricity generation projects.

Candidates Principle Duties

  1. Writing land strategies for major infrastructure projects
  2. Writing and analysing land budgets for major infrastructure projects
  3. Preparing commercial heads of terms for land rights acquisitions
  4. Writing land management policy documents for major infrastructure projects
  5. Proposing and agreeing control and authorisation mechanisms for property transactions
  6. Being the lead negotiator in property transactions within agreed commercial budget parameters
  7. Preparing documents for quasi-judicial proceedings
  8. Writing and presenting reports on project progress to senior colleagues
  9. Reporting on progress v. budget
  10. Overseeing and completing property transactions within required project timescales

Candidates Financial Responsibilities

  • Project third party land rights acquisition budgets.
  • Project budgets.

Candidates Knowledge

  • An appreciation of the importance of a system of land and property rights to the proper functioning of society and an in depth understanding of the functioning of the UK system of land and property rights in the Scottish and English legal systems.
  • In depth understanding of and practised experience in land and property negotiation.
  • A working knowledge of the planning process as it relates to major infrastructure projects in the Scottish and English systems.

Candidates Qualifications

Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline


Professional Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors


Professional Member of the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers


RICS Registered Valuer


Candidates Experience

  • Proven track record of structuring property transactions in order to reach compromises between the acquiring authority and the seller.
  • Cradle to grave involvement in land assembly and land rights management throughout the whole lifecycle of a major infrastructure project from project inception to handover to operations.
  • Experienced in methods of governance of Large Capital Projects.
