Membership of the CAAV provides a wide range of benefits including:

CAAV News Letter

Published quarterly; it covers relevant developments, law reports, statistics and other matters. It is also available on the CAAV website with a searchable archive back to 1995.

Technical Publications

With one copy sent free-of-charge to each CAAV member, these provide invaluable professional guidance on matters such as Taxation, Valuation, Environmental Stewardship, model agreements, and are under constant review for developing topics.

Website

This provides immediate access to the members’ area for up-to-date briefings as and when developments occur. It also includes an archive section with past documents, details of forthcoming events and details of CAAV examinations.

Conferences

Including a key annual national conference for all members on the same day as the AGM, the annual round of Spring Briefings and the Young Valuers’ Conference. Local associations and groups may also organise conferences.

Costings

This provides costings for many agricultural operations which is specifically recognised by HMRC as a basis for stocktaking valuations as well as used under contracts, for compensation in compulsory purchase and other situations.

Agricultural Land Occupation Survey

An authoritative annual publication which monitors changes in the occupation of farmland in England and Wales and also Scotland, assisting policy discussions.

CAAV Fellows have the authority of statute to draft Farm Business Tenancies with a term of more than three years, a privilege normally reserved to lawyers.
