Local Associations
Fellow and Probationer CAAV members (not student members) have to also be a member of a Local Association for the geographical area in which they practice. Retired members must also belong to a Local Association.
The Local Associations offer members a local forum for matters of professional concern and discussion as well as a welcoming community.
There are 28 Local Associations covering England, Wales and Scotland. These areas are shown on the Map of Local Associations. Each Local Association is different, reflecting its history and geography, membership and current pressures. They generally organise events and examination tutorials, as well as holding an annual meeting.

Groups
The Local Associations combine to act as Groups giving an opportunity to discuss current issues on a wider basis and organise Conferences.
